How This Calculator Works

This calculator estimates your body fat percentage using the Durnin & Womersley Method, a widely used skinfold (calipers) technique that measures subcutaneous fat at multiple body sites. It is known for its strong reliability across different age groups.

Step 1: Take Skinfold Measurements

  • Men & Women: Biceps, Triceps, Subscapular, Suprailiac

Measurements are taken using calipers in millimeters (mm). Each site should be measured 2–3 times and averaged for better accuracy.

Step 2: Calculate Body Density

Density = A − (B × log₁₀(Σ4))

(Σ4 = sum of the four skinfold measurements)

Step 3: Convert to Body Fat %

Body Fat % = (495 ÷ Density) − 450

This final step uses the Siri equation to convert body density into body fat percentage.
