Jackson & Pollock 4-Site Measurement Guide

How This Calculator Works

This calculator estimates your body fat percentage using a 4-site skinfold method, based on measurements taken with calipers. It uses the sum of four skinfold sites along with age to estimate body density, which is then converted into body fat percentage.

Step 1: Take Measurements

  • Sites (Men & Women): Triceps, Abdomen, Thigh, Suprailiac
  • All measurements should be taken in millimeters (mm) using skinfold calipers

Step 2: Apply the Formula

Sum of Skinfolds = Triceps + Abdomen + Thigh + Suprailiac
Male Body Fat % = (0.29288 × sum of skinfolds) – (0.0005 × (sum of skinfolds)²) + (0.15845 × age) – 5.76377
Female Body Fat % = (0.29669 × sum of skinfolds) – (0.00043 × (sum of skinfolds)²) + (0.02963 × age) + 1.4072

Step 3: Interpretation

The resulting value represents an estimate of your body fat percentage. This can be used to assess your current fitness level and monitor progress over time.

This 4-site skinfold body fat calculator provides an estimate based on caliper measurements at specific body locations. Results may vary depending on measurement technique, caliper accuracy, and individual differences in fat distribution.
