How This Calculator Works
This calculator estimates your body fat percentage using the Jackson & Pollock 3-Site Method, a widely used skinfold (calipers) technique that measures subcutaneous fat at specific body locations. It is known for offering a strong balance between simplicity and accuracy.
Step 1: Take Skinfold Measurements
- Men: Chest, Abdomen, Thigh
- Women: Triceps, Suprailiac, Thigh
Measurements are taken using calipers in millimeters (mm). Each site should be measured 2–3 times and averaged for better accuracy.
Step 2: Calculate Body Density
(Σ3 = sum of the three skinfold measurements)
Step 3: Convert to Body Fat %
This final step uses the Siri equation to convert body density into body fat percentage.
